Long Bio (250 words)

Lydia Crown is an emerging indie singer-songwriter from Northern New Jersey, crafting emotionally driven music rooted in folk and alternative rock. Drawing inspiration from The Cranberries, Joni Mitchell, and ’90s singer-songwriters Shawn Colvin and Sarah McLachlan, she pairs haunting melodies with honest storytelling, transforming personal experiences into songs that feel both intimate and universal. Lydia’s relationship with music began long before she considered herself a songwriter. As a child, she was constantly singing commercial jingles, inventing lyrics, and asking her dad to record her impromptu performances. Though she once gravitated toward theater and acting, she eventually found songwriting more compelling. Music became a way to transform her experiences into characters and stories, creating worlds rooted in her own life while leaving room for listeners to find themselves within them. Today, Lydia is carving out her place as an independent artist, bringing her original music everywhere she performs, particularly to the streets of New York City. As a NYC busker, she thrives on the spontaneity of performing for passersby, finding meaning in the unfiltered connection between artist and audience. Without a stage or barrier, even a brief encounter can turn an ordinary walk through the city into something memorable. That same childlike instinct to create continues to drive Lydia’s songwriting, now shaped by a deeper well of life experience. Following releases including “Sweet When It’s Good” and “Your Frost,” her latest single, “It Still Stings,” arrives November 6, 2026, ahead of her debut album, Ruined.
